Stop Excited Dog From Jumping On People in 1 Day
Want to teach your excited dog to stop jumping on people in a single day? Does your puppy with muddy paws jump up on your clean linen pants? Or when your guests arrive at your house are they met by your overly excited dog who then tries to jump all over them?
Imagine breaking your dog of this annoying habit and never worrying about him jumping up on you, or suffering the humiliation of having him jump all over your guests! If you read every word of this article you will learn how to stop this excited dog behavior in a just one day!
Now we have all had our friends tell us to whack the dog every time it jumps up. Some recommend stepping on his toes, or putting a knee in his chest. But causing your dog discomfort is FAR from the best way to teach your excited dog to stop jumping up. Your dog jumps up because he is simply that -- excited! He wants your attention.
None of us have a problem giving our dog attention, we just want him to ask for it in an appropriate way before we give it to him. That means when we give him attention, it has to be in a way that guarantees he's NOT given a green light to jump up on us.
The combination of giving the dog zero attention when it jumps up, and lavishing it with praise when it sits patiently at your feet is the easiest way to do this. Using this method should take no more than a single day to stop your your excited dog from jumping on people. Trust me, he will learn fast!
Try this: reach down in an excited manner so your dog becomes excited and wants to play. Continue playing with the dog until it's enthusiasm leads it to jumping up on your leg. As soon as your dog jumps up, quickly remove eye contact from your pooch and stand completely still, showing no emotion whatsoever.
Your dog will soon get bored waiting for you and lose interest. Once this happens, immediately go right back to playing excitedly with the puppy. Get him all worked up until he jumps up on you again. Once he does, immediately stop, stand completely still and remove eye contact from your dog.
Rinse and repeat. Rinse and repeat.
It won't take long at all for your furry friend to realize that the second his muddy paws touch your linen pants, his play time is over. Imagine the pleasure of walking your dog without worrying about him humiliating you by jumping on people, constantly tugging and pulling at his leash, or barking and snarling at other dogs - or other folks!
All of these problems can be corrected! By using. You can learn to Train Excited Dogs just like yours. Two or three days from now your problem can be over!
